Film Animation Still Has a lot to Give to its Spectators

There is no doubt that 2022 was truly a historical year for animation films since the film Pinocchio by Guillermo del Toro won an Oscar and a Golden Globe. Which means that it was the best film in this genre and change the perspective on this type of filmmaking forever.

Pinocchio is the classic story written by Carlo Collodi; however, Guillermo del Toro was able to create an original script accompanied by a full animated version in stop motion that was handcrafted frame by frame and resulted in a tremendously beautiful work of art that is admired around the world.

Guillermo who is a consolidated creator who has won a lengthy list of awards has spoken himself about animations stating that it is not only a genre but an expression of film itself that is not necessarily only for children since it can express and speak about any subject.

In 2022, Pinocchio caught the attention of young and old because the script covers serious issues such as family relationships, identity crisis and even fascism, but in such a way that it is enjoyable for all ages and different matters can be understood.

Guillermo del Toro is Mexican and one of the most outstanding in filmmaking and thus, Mexico has more of a presence on the big screen. There is much young talent that is starting to show its name in important films and the talent is overflowing.

And speaking of Mexican film directors, Olmo Cuarón, son of Alfonso Cuarón, is following his father’s steps since he has stated that he wishes to work on films, only that he will be focused on animation. Oddly enough, his father and del Toro are close friends.

Olmo Cuarón is currently 18 years old, he is close to choosing his professional career and everything seems to indicate that he will choose film animation; his YouTube channel already displays some of his first works with his great musical and creative talent.

Olmo Cuarón is an example of the famous saying “like father, like son” and we will surely soon see his first professional work on the big screen. There is no doubt that he has what it takes to triumph.
